Hi,

I am running my site on IIS - XP PRO. The asp files uses ODBC conectivity to MS Access. However, if the database is open for data entry or any reason whatsoever  open, the asp file would not open. If the access file is closed, the asp page shows up then. The acess database file is just open in normal view and not in design view.

This same instance works fine on my other pc which runs on win98 and I use PWS on that machine.

I have to open the mdb file for data entries and simultaneously view changes on the asp page.

Any help will be appreciated.

That sort of sounds like normal behavior though I agree about what you said about not being in design view so try this.

Not positive but it working on you win98 machine may relate to the fat or fat32 file system verses the ntfs file system.

Make sure on your xp box that you have simple file permissions turned off.. (do a search if ya dont know how) then make sure the folder the database is in has (r,w,x,d) permissions for the anonymous webserver account....also known as change or modify permissions.... never just give permissions to the database file itself... always the folder.. because you;ll have issues with the temp file the database creates when it is being run.

If that doesn't cure your problem I think your stuck with it...

In which case you should make asp pages for data entry and run those locally to work with the database... if you dont already have them already that is
