One of our subsidiary companies in Nashville, TN has an opening for a SQL Server DBA/Visual Basic Developer with solid experience administering Microsoft SQL Server RDBMS.

The SQL Server DBA/Visual Basic Developer will be responsible for converting technical specifications to SQL and Visual Basic applications and performing intermediate to strong SQL Server DBA duties.

OTHER DUTIES include the following:

•         Writing and maintaining documentation to describe program development, program logic, and program testing. Interacting with Information System team members and end users to gather information necessary for program and project specifications.

•         Analyzing, designing and programming screen layouts, graphical user interfaces, reports, data files and interfaces related to project requirements.

•         Advising and/or otherwise contributing to assist other programmers with technical related questions. This individual must be a self-starter, able to work with little supervision, and a good communicator (verbal & written).

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

•         4 years’ experience in database programming using Transact SQL (T-SQL) including writing stored procedures, triggers, data modeling (logical and physical), indexing and optimizing. Understanding of data integrity and SQL code-related performance issues.

•         2 years’ SQL Server database administration including performance tuning.

•         2 years’ full life-cycle experience developing Visual Basic applications.

PREFERRED ATTRIBUTES (not required):

•         Microsoft Certification: MCP VB, MCSD and/or MCDBA
